Then cousin Carl Ray comes to stay with her family and what starts out as the dull dog days of summer quickly turns into the wildest roller coaster ride of all time. How was Mary Lou supposed to know what would happen with Carl Ray and the ring? Or with her boy-crazy best friend Beth Ann? Or with (sigh) the permanently pink Alex Cheevey? Mary Lou: Person vs Fate (Mr. Furtz') Mr. Furtz' Died he was in the hospital and had an instant heart attack out of no where. Everyone was sad. When Mary Lou went to the funeral home and saw Carl Ray crying and Mary Lou was shocked. It affect Mary Lou because it was her neighbor and he was a nice and cared about her.
Sal: Person vs Fate (Grams, Her Mom) Grams Died because she got bit by a rattle snake and a boy help suck up the blood she also had a Stroke and they took her to the hospital and she died there. Sal's mom died because of a bus that crashed falling of a cliff Sal found out when gramps gave her the Car keys and she drove to a hill and saw the bus and a police officer drove her to her mom's grave. This affected Sal because it was her mom and she wanted to see her before her moms birthday. It also Affected Sal when Grams Died because its her Grandma and she was very caring about Sal and she was a very nice grandma to Sal and Sal really cared about her.
Mary Lou: Person vs Person (Carl Ray, Beth Ann, Maggie) Mary Lou has a conflict with Beth Ann because Beth Ann brags about having a boyfriend Derk and Mary Lou Calls and she never answers because she is always with Derk. She also has a conflict with Maggie which is her sister she has a conflict with her because they always fight and they never get along. Mary Lou also has one more conflict and thats with Carl Ray she has it with Carl Ray because she cleans his room and makes his bed for two weeks. This is an affect to Mary Lou because she tries to get along with everybody but there is something always in the way.
Sal: Person vs person (Phoebe, ) Sal has a conflict with Phoebe because Phoebe stayed at Sal's house when Phoebe mom was gone and Phoebe was being a jerk to Sal when she stayed at Sal's house. This affected Sal because Phoebe is Sal's Best Friend and Sal doesn't like to fight.
